Medicine Lodge

When it happens you're helped out by something so real
the loggerheads are planning their own escapes in the poetry
of a million people, having almost left us behind
for only their sentiment, or, I can pray that that's a lot of walls

Then, driving home in the cold, a kind of interrogative medicine,
(later we will say that that was the worst medicine we've tasted),
and back to this, I get home to my past, with a little more quick
silver in my blood, and something else, or, oh you meant like my father

Then, it happens too soon, getting back to this, for example
I'm supplying the king's anchorage of atmosphere to a fish hatchery
and if you will please laugh, I've forgotten something that real,
which I can pray to remember to being what needs to be forgotten

But, there's no use in holding back anything good for tomorrow,
the rains are pushing away, I'm having to take back, and take back,
deriving the same functions from whenever there's anything to believe,
so we can keep your dream alive, as you see it's not that far to fall

When you've only got one and the new way to fall, having penetrated
the physical media, though the earth calls, and she and I aren't
in bad wonderments, so, kiss kiss, love interest, you'll remember
when it happens you're helped out by something so real

Jesse Crockett likes flowers, lemurs, and long walks through rough neighborhoods.
