Cacophanies of Nostalgia Traffic Here

We fished the river for neckties.
Our ponies were made of cardboard.
The river was just some girl's spit.

The ponies went into traction.
We mailed razors to the hospital.
“Thanks for not drawing us any hair.”

From dead-dog balconies,
from balcony porches,
history lost its erection.

SUV's were still in fashion.
They circled us for hours.
The drivers wanted our bodies.

We fed the statues dynamite.
Then hugged stray dogs to death.
Dogs should become statues.

SUV's should become statues.
Pronouns should become statues.
Help us die so anyone chisels.
