Jen Tynes fistfights cowboys and slowdances grizzly bears. She is the author of The End Of Rude Handles (Red Morning Press 2006), See Also Electric Light (Dancing Girl Press 2007) and, with Erika Howsare, The Ohio System (Octopus Books 2007). Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in over fifty literary journals and reviews, including Denver Quarterly, Lit, Jubilat, Indiana Review, Typo, H_NGM_N and Verse. She currently lives and teaches in Providence, Rhode Island.
Erika Howsare lives in Virginia and works at a newspaper while plotting to become a farmer. Her poetry and nonfiction may be found in past or future issues of Fence, Chain, Verse, Aufgabe, Encyclopedia, the Denver Quarterly, and the online version of Conjunctions. A collaborative chapbook with Jen Tynes, The Ohio System, is out from Octopus Books, and an online collaboration is in various spots and indexed elsewhere on this site. Recent projects include a fictional account of traveling with Isabella Bird and a true account of a search for the Northwest Passage. She holds an MFA from Brown.
