chisel into a molehill. a mountain of dirt creates a desperate valley in the damp grass. cricket (a baby one, tiny) dancing in our bed. the world so small. one man’s chemical afternoon is another man’s platinum attitude. or trash. electricity divides the sky! earnestly, i approach the bed in the dark, eyes-closed, hoping i know the way (cracked feet, worn elbows) by now. -- the proper name of air: the fish tugging on the line. pflueger medalist worn down. warned down / it could break a knuckle amidst local complications. whatever simplicity is. whoever it was first born to is no matter. the shadows of fish live as the fish do. this requires concentration, careful execution, and patience that peaks at birth. slouches toward sleep. carves a groan into the why of tomorrow.
